Changes the file type and size, not how the image looks. WebP usually gives the smallest files.

Proportions are always kept. The line under each image shows the exact output size before you convert.

Lower = smaller file. Around 80% the difference is invisible to the eye; below 60% it starts to show.

Common questions

I converted a photo and it looks the same. Is it working?

Yes, and that is the goal: the file gets smaller while your eyes see no difference. The proof is in the numbers under each image, for example “2.1 MB to 480 KB, 77% smaller”. If you resized, the new width and height show there too, and in the downloaded file.

Can this tool improve the quality of a photo?

Honest answer: no. The compression slider controls file size, it never adds quality, and no converter can invent detail that was not captured. That kind of “AI upscaling” is a different type of tool that needs heavy AI models.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using your device’s own processing power. Your images never touch our server, which also makes it faster than upload-based converters.

Which format should I pick?

WebP usually gives the smallest files at the same visual quality, and every modern browser supports it. Pick JPG for maximum compatibility with older apps, and PNG when you need transparency or pixel-perfect graphics like screenshots and logos.

How does resizing work?

Scale % shrinks the image by a percentage (50% halves the width and height). Width sets an exact width in pixels and the height adjusts automatically. Proportions are always kept, so nothing gets stretched or cropped.

Is there a file limit?

No fixed limit. Since your own device does the work, very large images are only limited by your browser’s memory. Batches of everyday photos are no problem.
